24     SEMESTER FREEZE

24.1

For reason of sickness or any other incident on the request of scholar; his/her semester/s can be frozen by Authorities of University, after scrutinizing his/her request on genuine grounds of the incident occurred.
24.2

Students enrolled in the first semester cannot apply to freeze his semester. Only those students who have completed their first semester of study may avail this facility.

24.3

Students absent without formal approval of deferment will be suspended and may be subsequently dismissed.

24.4
Maximum allowed period in this case is two semesters.
24.5

Maximum study period in this case will remain same i.e., 16 semesters or 8 years.

24.6

A student who wants to freeze his/her semester must forward the case through Departmental Admission Committee (DAC) & concerned Faculty Dean approximately 15-20 days before midterm examination. After midterm examination his/her semester cannot be frozen.

24.7

Case will be placed in AS& RB meeting for approval/rejection.

24.8

In case of approval of AS&RB for a semester freeze, a student will have to pay 30% of the semester tuition fee as a "semester freeze fee”. In case of non-payment, his/her request to freeze the semester will not be entertained.

In case of one semester deferment he/she may join continuing semester within 10 days. The deferred semester he/she may join later when offered, failure to join may be considered as "Withdrawn".

In case a student wants to withdraw his/her application from semester freeze, he/she must submit an appeal for withdrawal within seven (07) days from date of application.
